Zan Associates was the lead in coordinating all community engagement for MnDOT’s I-35W North Preliminary Engineering and Environmental Assessment project to plan for the development of a managed lane and transit-friendly corridor. Zan’s role included working with a Stakeholder Advisory Committee made up of representations from all affected communities in the corridor and coordinating the community engagement required to complete the noise wall voting process. Engagement activities included community “picnics” at several affordable housing apartments and manufactured home communities in the corridor. Other community engagement and project activities included public meetings, online surveys, translation for materials into multiple languages, one-on-one engagement with key stakeholders and property owners/managers in the corridor, and preparing and formatting reports for ADA accessibility.
